Living Documents That Support Student Mastery !!!!! ( Instructional Planning Calendar and Lesson Plans
How many of you last week took your new learning and revised parts of your IPC. Can the changes be visibly seen on the documents itself, can it be seen on the lesson plan and finally can it be seen in the presentation of your lesson to students. What adjustment did you make? When teachers know what they need to accomplish and how they are going to do it, they have a better opportunity to achieve success with the added benefit of less stress. Further, when students are engaged the entire class period, they have less opportunity to cause disruptions. Let's recap what we learned last week:
1. Good Instructional Planning Calendars - is the foundation of a well written lesson plan with the basic foundation of events, reteach opportunities and flex time due other programming issues on campus. It block out how many days it will take to teach an given unpacked standard, as well testing dates.
2. It is important that you not only dissect the S.E., but also examine the strand, to ensure students are taught based the outlined specifications and instructional resources.
3. If you see errors correct your instructional calendar immediately, If your calendar is incorrect, your lesson plan will also be incorrect.
