Math stations
Working with magnetic tiles is one of our new math stations. The children enjoy building castles--we have some future engineers and architects in the house.
Time
We are learning to tell time to the hour and half hour so we are practicing by playing a concentration match game.
Clock Scoot
We scooted around the room, reading the times on the clocks and recording them on our sheet. We checked our answers with our neighbors and helped each other remember that the 12 is also o'clock and the 6 is also the half hour.
Poetry
Writing poems will be our focus in writing for the last few weeks of school. Our first poem was about things that make us say "Ouch!"
Typing club
Practicing keyboarding has really helped the students know where the letters are on the keyboard. We still need practice putting 2 hands on the "wheel" as I call it.
Goldilocks' new bed
After reading about Benjamin Franklins' invention of the lightning rod that made houses safer from lightning, we decided to make a safe bed for Goldilocks so she won't get out and bother those 3 bears. Obviously, Mr. Scaletta was impressed with Dakota's work.
Some of the finished beds for Goldilocks..
There is no escaping this bed!
Painters tape will surely keep her in bed!
This one looks very comfortable.
