Texas Delta Alpha 50th Anniversary
Excellence in Education nominees from each chapter needed by Nov. 1st Online
Purposes: This is Alpha Delta Kappa’s educator of the biennium award. As an organization that promotes excellence in education, it is an essential program that was designed to recognize members for outstanding contributions in education, to promote the goals and of Alpha Delta Kappa, to increase the visibility of the organization and to offer an additional benefit for being a member.
Why should chapter members nominate sisters? Imagine how honored a member would feel to be recognized by her sisters as an exemplary educator. Members that are active educators may also self-nominate. Furthermore, picture how proud the chapter members would be if the nominee is the recipient at the State/Province/Nation (S/P/N) level and goes on to be recognized at the regional level. The regional recipient receives an award of $500 from the Foundation. That regional recipient would then be eligible to receive the highest recognition at the International level which includes a monetary grant of $5,000 to use
for educational purposes. This is a once in a biennium opportunity for recognition!
What are the criteria for nomination? Nominate an active member who is actively engaged in the education profession and under contract in teaching, administration or some specialized field of education; exhibits exceptional professional dedication, knowledge and skills; is recognized as an outstanding educator by colleagues, parents and students; has made exemplary contributions to education; shows evidence of professional achievement and success; and demonstrates school/community collaboration.*A member can be
nominated again for this award at the S/P/N level.
How does an Alpha Delta Kappa member become nominated? The process is simple. The online live Nomination Form is active April 15, odd-year with a deadline of November 1. A narrative describing why the nominee is a worthy candidate must be
uploaded with the online Nomination Form. Nominees will receive the emailed Kaleidoscope Application link by November 10, odd-year. Application deadline is January 15, even-year.
Information pertaining to the EiE award can be located on the International website under MEMBERSHIP, click on Scholarships and Grants, then click on Excellence in Education.
