2018-2019 FINAL EXAM EXEMPTION POLICY
Attention Class of 2019 Parents!
Do you need help completing the FAFSA? To receive any funding for a 2- or 4-year school, students must have the FAFSA on file. Representatives will be at Klein Oak to offer help on March 21st and April 16th in the library from 8:30 – 11:30. There is a link provided in Schoology to sign up. Please contact Mrs. Demby at ndemby1@kleinisd.net for additional information or questions.

Varsity Women's Choir Sings with The University of Houston Men's and Women's Choir
The Varsity Women’s Choir was invited to sing in an honor concert with the men’s and women’s choruses from the University of Houston. Klein Oak was the only women’s choir invited! The concert is on April 13 at St. Luke’s United Methodist's Church at 4 p.m.

Congratulations on your athletic excellence! On signing day, your college had you sign a letter of intent with details of your athletic scholarship.

Prom 2019
Prom tickets will be available for online purchase for $78 per student. No couple tickets.
All guests that do not attend Klein Oak must have a form on file with Mrs. Ramos BEFORE their ticket can be purchased.
*No guests 21 or over*
Prom shirts may be picked up after a prom ticket is purchased…while supplies last. A copy of the receipt is needed in order to get your shirt.
Boys Prom Attire:
*No jeans
*No running shoes
*Tuxedos are not required.
*Suits are permissible.
*Boots are permissible if they are dress boots not work boots.
Prom Dress Rules:
* Back is ok if the scoop is not below the base of the lower back.
*V-neck and sweetheart necklines are ok as long as the v doesn’t pass mid-breast.
*Open midriff and open side panels are ok as long as there is nude material covering and panels do not expose bare skin.
*High slits are ok as long as the slit does not rise further up than mid-thigh.
These dresses are wayyyyy too expensive to buy and not be able to wear. If there is a question as to whether or not your student’s dress is within dress code, you may either email me or text me a picture of your student in the dress so that it can be verified.

The Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports Committee will be using snacks such as granola bars, chips or crackers as part of its new rewards program. If you are willing to donate these “Vending Machine” style items, please drop them off in the front office. Thank you for helping to promote a more positive “KOlture” on our campus!

Seniors! Turn in your scholarship letters (Academic and Athletic) to Ms. Marr in the 10th grade office as soon as possible so you can be recognized at Senior Awards.
Seniors: If you are planning to attend Texas A&M – Texarkana in the fall, there is a scholarship opportunity available for you. Please see Mrs. Demby in the class of 2019 office area for details.
Open to grades 9 through 12 in 2020. Students begin now to sign up and submit from grades 9-12.

Federal Report Card
Klein ISD is sharing this information about the district and your child’s campus with you as part of its obligations under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA).
Federal Report Cards for the state, the district, and each of the district’s campuses are now available on the district’s website at this link and are also available on the Texas Education Agency’s website.
Information on these report cards includes a summary of the Texas State Accountability System, STAAR Student Achievement, STAAR Academic Growth, Graduation Rate, English Language Proficiency, School Quality or Student Success, STAAR Participation, Civil Rights Data, Teacher Quality Data, and Per-pupil Expenditure.
If you have difficulty accessing the information from the website, hard copies of the reports are available at the district or campus office. If you have questions about the information, please contact our office at (832) 484-5101
As of this week, we will move to weekly tablet distributions. Tablets will be distributed on Thursdays to all students who meet the payment deadline of Tuesday by the end of the day.
