PAUSE & REBOOT PROGRAM
Any student who withdraws from the college by 11/13 will be invited to participate in our “Pause & Reboot” Program hosted by the SMART Space. This is a program for students who struggled to get started this semester with virtual instruction or were challenged by the additional pressures of the pandemic. The “Pause & Reboot” program draws from the S.O.A.R. model of building upon Strengths, optimizing Opportunities, developing Aspirations, and actualizing Results. It will encourage students to think more clearly about their motivation, their values in their major and chosen profession, and challenges in setting and achieving goals during this uncertain time. Students in this program will meet twice a week for 4 weeks starting the week of November 16th. Academic Coaching will maintain this cohort during the Spring semester to develop the practical application of executive function skills in enrolled classes. There is no charge to the student to participate in this program. Students who complete the 4-week program will be automatically re-enrolled for the Spring semester. For more information, please contact Lauren at lbruneau@champlain.edu.
FACULTY CENTRAL
FACULTY CENTRAL is a new resource designed to be the partner piece for faculty, similar to Student Central for students. This is where you will find information about the “business” of being a faculty member and a centralized resource of links to more information. Coming soon, you will be able to find the link to Faculty Central at the My.Champlain portal page under Academic Resources/Faculty Tools & Support. There is also a link at the bottom of each Faculty Brief for your convenience. This is a work in progress, and we welcome your feedback and we appreciate you taking a look at this resource that we will continue to build out for all faculty. Please send any feedback to Academic Affairs (acadaffairs@champlain.edu).
FREEMAN FOUNDATION EAST ASIA INTERNSHIP GRANT
The Stiller School of Business’ East Asia Internship Grant, generously funded by the Freeman Foundation, and run in conjunction with the Office of International Education (OIE) with support from Career Collaborative, is opening applications for a tentative Summer 2021 Program with cautious optimism but with the necessary caveat that the program (or certain site locations) may or may not be able to run depending on pandemic conditions and other related factors. Students from any major are welcome to apply (though a certain number of slots need to be held by SSB students). Students can apply through the OIE online by clicking the link here, and any questions can be directed to oie@champlain.edu.
