Elginburg Eagle News
Elginburg & District Public School - May 14th
We Did It!
Congratulations, we have another week of remote learning under our belts! We are very proud of our Elginburg Eagles for their continued resilience to show up, work hard and stay connected! Thank you to all of our families and care-givers who continue to lend support.
We hope everyone has been getting outside for recess! The weather has certainly improved and our moods have taken a boost, too! We miss seeing your faces in person but are so happy you are connecting with us online!
We have Spirit Days planned for each Friday to help lighten the mood and give our students something to look forward to. There will be prizes for Best Spirit, so get creative and strive for a prize!
The Elginburg Staff
Here is a lovely Read Aloud that echoes all of the things we are looking forward to when the pandemic is over...
Are you Moving?
If your student will not be attending Elginburg this fall please advise the school at your earliest convenience. Please provide the student(s) name, and grade and indicate what new school they are moving to. The new school will reach out to us to obtain students records.
If you are moving to another Limestone school, please contact us if the student’s address and/or contact information has changed. It is important that we have up-to-date contact information in our system prior to transferring information to the student’s future school. If you have any questions, please contact the school.
May is typically the time of year that we begin to think about class organizations and staffing for the next school year. This year is no exception, and we are beginning to organize for the upcoming school year.
Elginburg has been approved for 11 full time classes (K-8). This year we have been staffed at 10 full time classes so we are excited to see the projected numbers are higher!
The creation of classes is a very complex task that takes into account many factors. When determining placements for next year, we consider learning and academic needs, emotional and social needs, gender balance and class size to name a few.
We recognize that, in a few individual cases, there may be important reasons why a specific placement is necessary. In these cases, I request that you submit a written email request directly to email@example.com indicating the reasons for your request. The request should identify the optimal conditions for your child’s success but should not indicate a specific teacher request. We will do our best to accommodate your child’s needs but cannot guarantee specific placements at this time. All written requests must be received no later than Monday May 17.
We appreciate your support and understanding in this matter.
Kindergarten Registration is OPEN!
We look forward to welcoming new families to our school community!
