The statements that apply to today's PD are:
- Activities were of a type that engaged participants over a sustained period of time allowing for analysis, discovery, and application as they relate to student learning, social or emotional achievement, or well-being.
- This professional development aligned to my performance as an educator.
- The outcomes for the activities relate to student growth or district improvement.
- The activities offered for this event aligned to State-approved standard in Professional Development Standards, Illinois Content Area Standards, Professional Educator Standards, and Illinois Professional Leader Standards.
The work that we are doing by connecting our resources and strategies to the standards on our curriculum map is directly connected to our school improvement plan and our strategic planning document. These activities directly connect to our vision to be a model of student achievement for elementary school districts in the State of Illinois.
Thank you for your dedication and commitment to this very important work!
Curriculum Maps, CFA's, and more - A TIMELINE
Time will be devoted during the early release time today to continue working on our curriculum maps.
PE and specials teachers - continue where you left off last time.
Classroom teachers will begin by digging through the resources of School Wide for the unit you are currently working on. If you have already completed a unit plan for the unit you are currently working on, please move on to the next School Wide unit of study. As you dig through the resource to create your unit plan, you will be able to easily determine which priority standards are going to be covered. Add these to the curriculum map. Take time to determine if you need other resources to help you teach the standards. Decide what strategies are going to best help your students. A couple of columns have been added to the curriculum map spreadsheets. I apologize for making changes, but they are necessary components our curriculum map.
Barb, Sunny, and I will be wandering from group to group. Let us know if you have any questions. Text me if you want me to come to your group.

CIA Meetings on October 23 or 26 will be devoted to reviewing curriculum maps/unpacking standards, too.
On our November 2nd Institute Day, we will be using at least a half day to work in teams to curriculum map, unpack standards and work with teams.
It is our hope that this time will allow you to really dive into the School Wide resource!
On our early release November 16th, time will be provided to work on report cards.
