Tips to Help Your Child With Reading
1. Find 10-15 minutes a day to read with your child. You can read, you can listen to your child read, or you can take turns reading. This is often a good activity to do right before bed to help your child unwind and get ready for a restful night's sleep.
2. Take turns choosing what to read! It is good for children to be exposed to a variety of texts. Let your child choose one week and then you choose the next.
3. Model appropriate reading habits for your child by turning off the TV and devices. Reading is a great way to promote imagination. By reducing the distractions your child can be fully engaged in what you are reading together and their imagination can grow!
