NASP Bow Purchase Information
Our 4th – 8th graders have now had shooting practice at both the 10 and 15 meter lines. The improvement has been fun to watch. Many of you have asked about purchasing personal bows for your own children. Here is an attached link:
Even though this is an Amazon link, it shows the only bow that can be utilized in our National Archery in the Schools Program. Students who have their own bows can bring them in on our shooting days, which typically occur every two weeks on a Thursday.
What is Academic Success?
Zion has a very specific program that includes a resource room and also a talented/gifted component of partnering with teachers and parents to provide extra academic assistance as well as opportunities for students to go beyond the regular curriculum. We have partnered for many years with Lutheran Special Education Ministries out of Ann Arbor Michigan, to provide certified teachers for our program. Currently we are blessed to have Becky Warnasch and Caroline Contreras as our teachers. We are hiring a third teacher in the upcoming weeks, so we can expand to more students, some who are on a wait list. Part of our philosophy as a Christian school is to minister to every child, to meet his/her needs, and to have Christ in the center. To see more about the programs and services LSEM offers, please visit their web site: www.luthsped.org
Mrs. Stoneburner
Mrs. S. continues to monitor her situation through her medical team, with prayers for answers and for healing. Thank you to all of you for sending her encouragement.
Chess Happening in January 2024
We will soon be sending home a flyer and more information to you as families to see if you would be interested in having your child participate. There will be a cost involved, which will include a chess set and some other materials. This will be for any child in grades K – 5.
Our promise: Our second century of developing
Christian leaders who engage and excel.

7th Grade Service Project
7th Grade Service Project
Zion 7th graders kicked off the holiday season with a Walmart shopping trip to purchase Christmas gifts that will benefit kids in our community that are served by the Williamson County Child Advocacy Center. We started this service project with a grant of $250 from Thrivent Action Teams. Combined with generous donations from the students and their families we ended up with over $1300 to spend fulfilling 119 items from the WCCAC wish list for their annual Holiday Market event. While shopping, these students really demonstrated what it means to have a servant heart. They gave a lot of thought and consideration to each gift purchased and its recipient. Before handing the gifts over students prayed over the gifts, the Williamson County Child Advocacy Center, and the families served by the WCCAC. It was a fun and fulfilling experience that will not soon be forgotten! Merry Christmas!

St. Nicholas' Day in ASC
St. Nicholas’ Day
Come celebrate St. Nicholas’s Day with After School Care on Wednesday, December 7th. We will read a book about St. Nicholas, who was a pastor about three hundred years after Jesus walked the earth. He was known for his kindness and generosity.
Gifts we receive through Jesus, made St. Nicholas become known as Father Christmas.
We will have a delicious snack and the children will each receive a small bag full of goodies. Above all, we hope to leave the afternoon, remembering how kindness matters!
Please RSVP to the school office or After School Care’s email (asc@zionwalburg.org) by Friday, December 1st, so supplies may be purchased.
Special drop-in fees apply to those not registered in after care. ($25 flat rate)
