Family Fun Day is Saturday, February 20 from 10am-3pm!

Hello Alton Darby families, it’s that time of year again!!

The annual Family Fun Day is coming, February 20, 2016. Each year during Family Fun Day a silent auction is held in the school library.

We are in need of wonderful donations for this auction from our ADE families.

We are seeking out anyone who has a local business or can provide a service, and would like to provide a donation. Appropriate items to donate might include gift cards, merchandise, coupons, family oriented activities or products or various types of services.

Family Fun Day Volunteers

Thanks for volunteering at Family Fun Day!

Each game will come with instructions and prizes to hand out. All supplies needed will be provided.

The event is open to friends and family from 10 AM - 3 PM, volunteer shifts are 2 hours long and you may sign up for as much time as you'd like.

Here is the SignUp Genius link:

The Alton Darby PTO is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to financially support and promote programs that improve the educational opportunities for our students and community involvement in our school. As one of our biggest fund raisers, this auction assists the PTO in supporting programs such as Publishing Shop, Family Community Events, Staff Appreciation, Professional Development, Author Visits, Professionals in Schools, Field Day and classroom improvements. The PTO will advertise your business during the auction and in the school newsletter. We will also follow up with a formal letter confirming your donation for your records.

If you or someone you know would be interested in donating, please contact the Silent Auction Chair, Kelly Miller at 614 565-1398 or, or the ADE PTO.

Thank you in advance for your support, assistance and contribution.

Kindergarten Registration Information

Kindergarten Registration for the 2016-17 school year has begun!

If your child will be five years of age on or before September 30, 2016, he/she is eligible to start kindergarten during the 2016-17 school year.

Parents should complete the online registration and sign up for a registration appointment by using the online tool SignUp Genius. Please don’t delay. Appointment times fill up quickly and this will give you a better opportunity to reserve a screening time that works well for you.

Parents will be given the option to upload their documentation with the online registration form. Parents with students already enrolled in Hilliard City Schools will have the option to schedule a phone conference.

New parents to our district will need to make an appointment to come to our Welcome Center at 2140 Atlas Street, Columbus.

Questions about Snow Days, Above the Line and Social Media

In this week's Get Connected Blog Superintendent John Marschhausen answers questions he gets asked often. This time he tackles snow days, why your students might be talking about pressing pause and above the line actions and how social media can help and hurt our community. You can read the answers here.

School Start Time Task Force

The district is in the process of accepting applications for people wanting to be a part of a task force to look at school start times. We need representation from all areas of our district. We’d like parents from each school, a wide arranges of students’ ages and both working and stay at home parents. If you are interested in working on this task force please apply here.

The Quality Profile Video Series

This month on the district web page we are featuring a series of videos highlighting results from our 2015-16 Quality Profile. In this week's video we take a look at our strong academic programs. You can watch the first two videos here.
