Cape's Mission & Vision
Vision: We believe that the most promising strategy for achieving the mission of Cape Elementary is to develop our capacity to function as a professional learning community.
Message from Ms. Osterholm and Mrs. Sund
Dear Cape Families,
We made it through the first nine weeks of school! It was great to see the smiles on the teachers’ and students’ faces when they started connecting again. We heard many stories from students and staff about how great it was to see each other and share experiences. This week we will welcome back ninety more Cape students. Our hope is your child is feeling safe, connected and comfortable with coming to Cape each day.
We greatly appreciate parents who have kept their children home when their child was not feeling well. Parents are urged to continue this practice for the protection of everyone in our community. The steps we are taking at school are working to keep our students and staff safe and healthy. We are all weary of social distancing, mask wearing and frequent hand washing, but we can’t let our guard down now. We recognize that all these safety measures and the sanitizing program at Cape are essential in the fight against COVID-19. Our goal is to keep our students and staff safe while remaining on campus with in-person learning. Please continue to help your child understand the importance of all safety measures. Your child’s health and safety are always a top priority.
We want to thank our PTO and also welcome our new board members! Please take time to participate in our online silent auction the first week of November, and we look forward to seeing you at our first Spirit Night at Chipotle on Wednesday, November 18 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m..
We are very thankful and privileged to work with students at Cape Elementary. Each one of them is our joy! Happy Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Ms. Osterholm and Mrs. Sund
Breakfast for Students!
Please do not send your child to school with a breakfast from the outside. If you give your child breakfast on the way to school, please be sure they are done with it before entering campus. All students may have free school breakfast. Breakfast is available from 7:30 to 7:50am. Thank you for understanding!

School Social Worker News!
Welcome back Cape Elementary families! The first quarter of school has ended, and it has been wonderful to see students on campus and in their Home Connect classrooms. This school year continues to be unique for our students and families, so I wanted to remind our Cape Elementary families to please contact me if your child is having any trouble with school attendance (in-person or Home Connect), if there are any student/family needs or other concerns.
School attendance is essential to student success; however, student and family needs are equally important. Everyone has a role to play in student success from parents, caregivers, students and school. Research shows poor attendance in the first months of school can predict the trend for the entire year. We are here to help.
Thank you!

Thanks to these ladies for stepping up to join our President, Amy Gabel! Because of the addition of these volunteers, Cape Elementary PTO lives another year. The Vice President seat is still open. If you're interested in taking on this position or can volunteer your time without committing to an official position, please email Amy Gabel at CapeElementaryPTO@gmail.com. We would appreciate any and all help!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Virtual Pumpkin Carving Contest. We were excited to receive 47 entries! With so many entries, we were able to have two categories: KG to 2nd Grade and 3rd to 5th Grade for a total of six winners. The winning entries are included below. Check our Facebook Page to see all entries. While there, please give us a "Like" (Cape Elementary PTO) and send us a friend request (Cape Elementary Pto). Yep! We have two pages. Congratulations to all the winners! Thank you to Maria's Pizzeria for sponsoring the event!
We have been on a mission to increase our support through AmazonSmile. With your participation in our Prime Day Raffle, we are up 26 supporters for a total of 85! Congratulations to Heather Sprague! She won a $25 Amazon gift card. If you haven't, please consider shopping via AmazonSmile and choosing Cape Elementary PTO as your charity. Amazon will donate 5% of your purchase to the PTO. Our goal is to have 100 supporters by the end of the year. With your help we can reach that goal! With the holidays coming, you'll be shopping anyway....so why not support the PTO in the process?
Please see the November calendar below for upcoming PTO events! Thank you for your continued support!
