April Recess Travel Survey!

We are asking all BJAMS families to complete this survey so that we are able to ensure a return-to-school plan for those leaving the state. Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this survey. Click here to complete the survey.

Governor Scott and Dr. Levine released a tiered reopening plan this week. According to the plan, effective April 9, unvaccinated people traveling out-of-state are no longer required to quarantine and test after 7 days (or quarantine for 14 days). The new guidance instructs that unvaccinated individuals must test within 3 days of re-entering Vermont.

What does this mean for BJAMS students?

We are waiting to learn how the tiered reopening plan will impact both health care and education, as these two sectors may have slightly different guidance. We will share this with you once we have that guidance.

Breakfast Meal Bags for April Break

We will be offering a breakfast meal bag for students over April break. The bag will consist of 5 days' worth of breakfast food items, such as: milk, juice, fruit, cereal, yogurt, string cheese, parfait, bagel and quick bread for each student. You must sign up through FACTS by 4/14 for breakfast, selecting the dates 4/19 - 4/23. The breakfast bags will be labeled with your family ID number and ready for pick up at dismissal on Thursday 4/15. If your child is attending ASP that day, you can grab your breakfast bag (look for your family ID number) outside the ASP entrance.

Health Screening Update

Secretary French and Dr. Levine released updated health and safety guidance for schools on Thursday, April 8. We will be reviewing the changes as a faculty and staff next week, but wanted to let you know about a change that we will implement, starting Monday, April 12.

Schools are no longer required to conduct temperature screenings of K-8 students (we are waiting for definitive guidance regarding PK students/families). Temperature checks for K-8 students should be performed at home before departing for school. Individuals with fever (100.4º or greater) should not come to school.

All students and/or their families should complete an exposure and symptom screening BEFORE departing for school. Anyone who has been exposed to COVID-19 (unless vaccinated) or who has COVID-19 symptoms should not come to school, and should follow Department of Health guidance regarding quarantining and testing.
