Building a curriculum for the College and Career Readiness Standards can be a daunting task. Learn about lesson plan resources for the various levels of both ABE and GED® Preparation programs. Plan on sharing your resources with the field. Presented by Bonnie Goonen and Susan Pittman.
Adult learner persistence and retention is directly related to the degree that they are involved in planning their own learning. Instructors that help adult learners define their goals, assess themselves realistically, and understand the sequence of instructional objectives required to attain the goal see an increase in learner persistence and retention. Adult learners should be actively involved in planning their programs. Students want instruction that is related to their goals, and positive classroom environments include involving students in planning activities.
