FPCS High School Student Government is raising funds for their Statewide Conference in Healy this coming April! They are selling See’s Candies on the Cross Point Campus on December 13th and 14th (last day of class for small group classes!) at 9am and at the FPCS offices on December 15 from 9-noon! Only $7.50 a box – Fresh from California, shipped the week of sale!!

Evergreen Centerpiece Field Trip and Activity for Grades K-12
Join us for our annual visit to Dimond Greenhouses.
Happy Chronister will lead a learning activity to help students understand how the availability of sunlight, water and minerals in the soil impacts the growth of trees. We will make an evergreen centerpiece with greenery and red roses.
Grades K - 12 welcome. Students under 10 should have parent supervision and please leave younger, non-participating siblings at home.
When: Thursday, December 14, 2:00-3:00 pm or 3:00-4:00 pm
Where: Dimond Greenhouses - 1050 West Dimond Blvd., Anch. 99515
(Access by going east on Dimond, between Minnesota and C Street. It is up on a hill with the driveway just before a coffee shack. Shoot for arriving at 2:50 so we start on time.)
Cost: $25 for suppplies - Requisitions only to be put under a science or art class in the OLS. Find the "field trip" tab to the far right after the supplies/vendor services/non-profits tabs.

Bricks 4 Kidz Field Trips
Bricks 4 Kidz are hands-on class where children learn the fundamentals of S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) using Lego® bricks. Students may register for these classes through the OLS. This is under field trips and is requisition only.

THEME: NXT & EV3 Robotics
Experience the cutting edge of technology with the introduction of LEGO® MINDSTORMS NXT & EV3 Robotics. Students will be captivated as they incorporate the newest generation of motors, sensors and software by programming their commands directly into the intelligent brick. Test their capabilities by moving an object with a robotic claw, or a creating a mousetrap. Our endless list of builds is sure to provide the complete fundamental components of robotics at best!

THEME: Transportation
If you like planes and automobiles, then this unit is for you! Students will build motorized models of a dragster, an airplane and more. Explore the history of transportation, each lesson introduces terminology related to each mode of transportation, like “lift and propulsion” for the airplane, as well as describes how each “vehicle” works. And the best part is the models are so much fun to play with!

The WeDo 2.0 software provides an excellent platform for science learning, offering an innovative way for students to model reality, conduct investigations, and use design skills.
Programming is an important part of 21st century learning. With the WeDo 2.0 software we teach programming in an intuitive way – letting students bring their creations to life while sharpening computational thinking skills like logical reasoning, pattern recognition, and modeling simulations.
The Wedo 2.0 is a drag and drop icon-based software that introduces kids to the world of wireless computer programming and robotics.
