Cullman City Schools
The Week in Review - October 26, 2018
College Application Process
Alecia White, Wallace State recruiter, spent the day with CHS seniors this week. They worked on completing the college applications process.
Let Me Interject!
Mrs. Angela Hall’s students at WES used Storyboard That to create a comic strip to demonstrate their knowledge of interjections. The learning was fun! The comic strips were great!
It's Great to be a Giraffe
Fun and learning were taking place in the Giraffe class this week! CCPS students and teachers work hard but they have a lot of fun, too.
Milo's Recognizes EES Students of the Month
Our Students of the Month had a special treat hosted by Milo's. Thank you, Milo's, for supporting our school and students!
CMS Robotics
The Robotics Team competes today at Wallace! BEST Robotics Game Day is taking place from 8:00 a.m - 4:00 p.m. at Tom Drake Coliseum. Good luck CMS!
CHS Caring for the Community
CHS National Honor Society collected 228 pounds of candy to be distributed to Folsom Center residents to pass out to the many trick-or-treaters that visit them on Halloween.
Red Ribbon Week Fun
EES teachers and students had a great time during Red Ribbon Week! Each day was themed with an emphasis on being Drug Free!
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Special guests from Wallace State visited CCPS this week. Mary Poppins was a hit!
Beyond the Classroom Walls
CHS Environmental Science students had many wonderful learning opportunities in the great outdoors!
A Lot of Character
Character is important in CCS! However, one day this week was more about a book or movie character. Character Day resulted in some very imaginative costumes.
Red Ribbon Week was celebrated with numerous dress-up days. The students and teachers at WES did not disappoint!
James Spann: A Triple Threat
They say, "third time's the charm." It was looking like we were testing that theory in CCS. James Spann was back for the third time this month! Cullman City Head Start had a great visit with James. We are thankful for his dedication to educating students about weather and weather-safety.
CHS Swim Hosts Tournament
The CHS Swim Team made their final home appearance yesterday at the Cullman Invitational. The team had a great meet. Individual and team finishes put Cullman in great shape as the meet came to a close.
Bearcat girls finished first overall. The guys finished 4th of the 12 schools attending. Cullman was the overall winner in combined team points!
Zoo Trip
CMS Pod 7A had great weather as they traveled to the Birmingham Zoo on Monday. Prior to the trip, the students picked an animal and researched the adaptation that animal must have to live in its natural environment. The students then took time to observe the adaptations that occurred in their environment at the zoo. Thanks to the parents who were involved in our trip. Everyone had a great time!
CHS Volleyball Wraps Up Play
The CHS volleyball team advanced to the Regional Tournament with their Area Runner-up finish. Congratulations to the team and to the individual members who made the All-Area Team.
Despite a loss to Hazel Green in their first Regional pairing the girls had a great season!
Reminder
Bearcat Football will close their season tonight against Ft. Payne. Let's support our Bearcats!
