Proof of Residency or Change of Address
Please call the office as soon as possible if you know your child will not be attending Husmann next year. Proof of Residency updates or Change of Address should be submitted as soon as possible to the school while we are in session. August is an extremely busy time of year both at the CORE and in the schools. We appreciate receiving this information as soon as possible to allow for classroom sectioning and placement to occur. Thank you!

Nurse News
If you pick up the free COVID test(s) at the CORE to test either yourself or anyone in your immediate family, anyone in direct extended contact, EVERYONE MUST REMAIN HOME UNTIL YOU HAVE THE RESULTS. Please DO NOT send anyone (the student tested OR their siblings) back to school while waiting for the results. This is extremely important in the event that the result should come back positive.
I am thrilled that our district has offered this opportunity to staff, families, and students, so let's continue to adhere to what is necessary to keep everyone safe and healthy. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
***IMPORTANT (UPDATED) INFORMATION AND
REQUIRED CRITERIA***
WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING RAPID NEGATIVE COVID TESTS. IF YOU OR YOUR CHILD'S RAPID IS NEGATIVE, YOU MUST DO A PCR TEST. PLEASE KEEP YOUR CHILD (AND ALL SIBLINGS) HOME UNTIL THE PCR RESULTS ARE BACK. Thank you.
If your child(ren) have even ONE of the following symptoms, please DO NOT send them to
school, and keep ALL of their siblings home as well (including middle school and high school
siblings) : The symptoms listed below reflect the most recent update from the Illinois
Department Of Public Health. Most notable change being “runny/stuffy nose” is no
longer included.
*FEVER (100.4 or higher)
*NEW ONSET OF MODERATE TO SEVERE HEADACHE
*SHORTNESS OF BREATH
*NEW COUGH
*SORE THROAT
*VOMITING
*DIARRHEA
*NEW LOSS OF SENSE OF TASTE OR SMELL
*FATIGUE FROM UNKNOWN CAUSE
*MUSCLE BODY ACHES FROM UNKNOWN CAUSE
Per protocol, any ONE or more of these symptoms will require you to follow the criteria to
return:
● ⬜ Student will need to remain home for 10 days until (and fever free for 24 hrs) **OR**
● ⬜ Student will need a doctor's note to return with an alternative diagnosis (option for students
w/o contact) *MD note MUST state that they "do not believe the symptoms to be COVID related*
**OR **
● ⬜ Student will need proof of a negative COVID test to return prior to 10 days - We DO accept
rapid tests UNLESS:
● 1-Student has had known contact with a confirmed positive COVID case.
● 2-There is an outbreak in the school.
● 3-Community transmission is high.
● ⬜ If student had close contact with a positive COVID case, or awaiting test result of family
member, must not return to school for 14 days - Student may NOT "test out of" quarantine
sooner than the 14 days.
● ***ONLY THE STUDENT WHO IS SYMPTOMATIC HAS TO BE CLEARED BY A
DOCTOR OR NEGATIVE COVID TEST TO RETURN. ONCE THAT STUDENT IS
CLEARED THEY (AND THEIR SIBLINGS) CAN ALL RETURN***
● Proof of negative COVID test or MD note must be provided to the health
office PRIOR to the student’s (siblings) return.
It is crucial that these guidelines are adhered to in an effort to keep everyone safe, and our
children in person. Thank you for your cooperation.

STUDENT AND FAMILY ENGAGEMENT
Husmann Cougars
Last week, our Husmann staff took some time out to honor three of our teammates that will be retiring at the end of this school year. To say that they will be tough roster spots to fill would be the understatement of the season.
We can't thank Mrs. Belke (32 years), Mrs. Rokusek (20 years) & Mrs. Thill (15 years) enough for their many minutes, hours, weeks and years of dedication to the Husmann community. The countless number of students, staff and families impacted by their contributions, knowledge, love, care and expertise will serve as the legacy all three of them leave behind here at Husmann School.
