"The War at Home" World Premier
Run On Productions requests submissions from actors and actresses for "The War at Home" by Michele Wells
About the play: Many African American men survived World War II but when they returned home from fighting for their country they faced another battle for their life in the American South. Of those who lost their lives to police brutality and the Klan, their murders remain uninvestigated and unacknowledged. "The War at Home", which is based on the true story of Jesse Thornton's lynching in Luverne, Alabama, revives an everyday life that was ended by the terror of relentless police brutality and the powerless state of many communities in the South.
