In a world of new and cutting edge technology this little website that has been around forever, deserves a shout-out. Classtools.net is a great toolbox full of useful and often fun or engaging applications to spice up your classroom. Random name picker, fun games to add your own questions to like "Fling the Teacher", arcade game generator, crossword generator, and tons of other tools for teachers to use. What's great is you just need to go to this website and dive in to start using it!
Sleuth It
Sleuth IT detective cases/adventure games are a multi-media resource for engaging and exciting students with literacy work. Sleuth IT is a series of interactive whodunnits for the classroom which place students at the heart of the action. As each story unfolds they must turn detective, sifting through evidence, analyzing witness interviews, exploring locations, and cracking codes in order to gather all the information needed to solve the mystery. Sleuth IT works on iPad, Android, Chromebook, Windows Surface, and Windows and Mac laptops. Soundtrap (by Spotify) allows your students to make and mix their own podcasts and music. Let them be creative and put together a schoolwide podcast. Possibilities are endless depending on the course and topic of what stydents could talk about, create and share with each other or their campus.
