Trumbauersville Times
10/30/2020
Dear Trumbauersville Families,
I would like to take a moment to thank our school community for such a terrific turnout to our Back to School Night, this past Tuesday. Personally, I feel that our teachers did a fantastic job with their presentation. Hopefully, you all were able to get a sense of each individual teacher's personality, their care for our students, and their dedication to teaching and learning at the elementary level. If you missed Back to School Night, please continue to scroll to the bottom of the newsletter for links to all of the teachers' presentations.
We did hear from some families that they had difficulties attending our live session (and even some of our google meets with the teachers.) I apologize for those errors and have looked into those so that they don't happen again and so that the technology runs smoothly for our upcoming conference nights. For our school, we believed it was important for us to have a personal connection with our families and we felt having a live introduction to our staff was the best way to maintain that personal touch through a virtual setting. However, this was the first time we used this type of technology and even though we did some testing of the system before the event, we did not foresee all of the technical issues in any of our preparations and trials prior to Tuesday.
Conferences will be on November 10th, 12th, and 19th. Some staff may have sent out the links for sign-up for conferences already but a school-wide list will be on the website early next week for your convenience
Lastly, remember, there is NO SCHOOL on Tuesday, November 3. 2020. Tuesday is Election Day. I hope that everyone who is eligible to vote makes time to do so. Modeling active engagement and civility in the democratic process is an important example for our students!
For information on voting, please see this link to Pennsylvania's official voting website: https://www.votespa.com/Pages/default.aspx
Sincerely
-Adam
Your child is no doubt eager to scare up a frightful Halloween costume and go trick-or-treating. Unfortunately, Halloween can be hazardous for children – and grown-ups, too – who are at risk for asthma flares or anaphylaxis, a life-threatening allergic reaction. This year, COVID-19 is another risk to which children and parents must prepare. Here are answers to questions you may have while planning for Halloween this year.
