A Note From Your Principal
Dear HCS Families,
Happy holidays to you and your families! It’s my hope that you are having a peaceful winter recess and are enjoying time with your loved ones. I certainly have much to be thankful for this holiday- our oldest son got engaged on Christmas Eve to his girlfriend who we absolutely adore; we traveled to New Jersey for my nephew's wedding and had a spectacular time; and we rang in the New Year as a small group at a fun-filled family hotel on our drive home. We arrived home this evening and are hopeful for a New Year filled with Positivity, Joy and Happiness...
Please know how much your family means to all of us at Honeoye Elementary. We appreciate your partnership each and every day and look forward to seeing your children back again on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 for a happy, healthy new year!
Sincerely,
Natalie Pfluke
Elementary Principal
ParentSquare
As we enter 2024, there is much to celebrate in our schools since opening day back in September. We hope you’ll regularly visit our website, honeoye.org to stay updated on news items and to check the school calendars as this time of year is filled with district activities.
We want to provide a few reminders about the district’s online communication platform ParentSquare. As you know, ParentSquare provides a safe way for district administrators, principals, teachers, staff, coaches, and parents to communicate, all in one place! ParentSquare posts are sent to your computer or phone via email, text, and even voice messages. Please reach out to the elementary office if you have questions about navigation.
Check out our PTA sponsored domino run set up by high school students celebrating donated boxed items for the food pantry! Students in grades UPK-5 were able to join in on the fun by counting down and watching the domino train- what fun!

iReady Diagnostic Window Opens in January
i-Ready is an online program for reading and mathematics that will help your student’s teacher determine your student’s needs, personalize their learning, and monitor progress throughout the school year. The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit your student’s needs. The purpose of this is not to give your student a score or grade, but instead to determine how best to support your student’s learning.
Although each teacher will have different dates that they decide to complete the Diagnostic with their class, the iReady Diagnostic window will be open for much of January. All students in grades K-5 will be participating. For Grades 1-5, this is their second diagnostic, while this is the first diagnostic for Kindergarten students.
Please visit the iReady Family Center to learn more about iReady, the Diagnostic, and the personalized learning program (My Path).
