Parents and Friends,
We have enjoyed a wonderful first week of school! From the Back to School Bash, to Wednesday Eucharist, to the mini Pep Rally, Grace students have been smiling and learning in the best of ways. Fall sports are getting underway. Practices have begun, and our boys who play football for Grace and St. Fred’s as well as our spirited Gator Cheer Squad are braving the heated afternoons. I encourage all of you to attend our annual Blessing of the Backpacks this Sunday. It is a special service, and a great time to celebrate the partnership that we have with Grace Episcopal Church. This Sunday, we will also kick off our PB & J drive! In partnership with Grace Church, this service project was initiated by Dee Cagle, embraced by our Grace students, and supported by Grace Church as a way for us to serve families in our community by providing much requested peanut butter and jelly to stock the pantry of the Christian Community Ministries. We will have collection boxes in the front of the church for the PB and J, and we will continue to collect over the next 2 weeks. Thank you to all involved for leading by example with Grace and Love.
Many thanks to the GES PTF, Booster Club, and Grace Church for a wonderful gathering during Monday's event in the gym. The table displays provided great information, and it was nice to have people present to answer questions and provide information. The students had tremendous fun playing golf and dancing to the DJ, and the pizza and popsicles solved any snack attacks...what a great Grace community we are. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
Warmly,
Dr. Ricks
