Mrs. Seller's 6th grade tribes are working on a repurpose project for the TRAILS classroom. They are in need of LOTS of used cards....thank you, birthday, get well, congratulations, any holidays, etc. Her students are going to cut the fronts off of used cards and set up a file for the students in Ms. Kelton's class to use. Example: it is one of the student's birthday....they can go pick a card out of the box and all sign the back. If you know of any elderly people that may have boxes of old cards, or if you have some yourself, please donate them to our project instead of throwing them away. You can bring them by the front office at Evans. Thanks everyone!

Ms.Kelton’s Life Skills Class and Mrs.Goodwin’s Gifted & Talented students, both from the I.W. Evans campus, need your help! They are collecting new, unused adult-size pajamas for Dana's Angels.

Dana’s Angels was founded by Brenda Brown Magness in honor of her late daughter,Dana Magness Clemons. Dana was a kind and thoughtful CPS worker in Fannin County who frequently found that children in her caseload were without personal belongings like pajamas, when removed from their homes and transported to Foster Homes. On the flip side, Foster Homes may not be granted financial assistance for sixty to ninety days after children are placed with them. As you can imagine, having these pajamas readily available can be a much appreciated blessing for children and Foster parents alike.

Our local Child Protective Services is running low on pajamas for a "child’s first night". CPS has recently received several donations of child-sized pajamas but adult-sized pajama donations for older kids has been sparse.

2,400 items including toiletries and pajamas have been collected and donated to Fannin County CPS children since 2018 through Dana’s Angels and our classes would LOVE to help increase this number.

For your convenience, you may drop-off your pajama donations at the IW Evans Campus or in the office of any BISD Campus and we’ll come pick them up!

Ms.Kelton’s and Mrs.Goodwin’s students will be presenting the donated pajamas to Brenda Brown Magness on behalf of Dana’s Angels, Fannin County CPS and CASA workers on April 5th. Our last day to collect through this campaign will be April 4th.

Our BISD family of staff and students always go above and beyond to help meet the needs in our community and our hope is that this will be one of the times where our compassion and generosity shine bright.
