COLLEGE DAY IS EVERY WEDNESDAY...WEAR YOUR FAVORITE COLLEGE SHIRT!
Mrs. Tracy Kannmacher - Kindergarten Teacher
1. Where are you from originally?
Lockport is about 40 miles south of Chicago. I lived there until moving to Lago Vista Texas.
2. Tell us about your family...
I've been married to my husband Tracey for 22 years and we have four children. Two sons Cole 21 and Danny 9, and two daughters Kendall 19 and Josey 14.
3. What led you to become a teacher and how long have you been teaching?
I have always enjoyed kids, and wanted to work in a rewarding field. Teaching is a calling and I felt led to choose education as a career. My grandma, whom I was very close to, was a teacher. I have been teaching for 8 of my 10 years all in Lago! I was fortunate to stay home with my first 3 kids.
4. What are your favorite hobbies?
I have 4 kids, so...... no hobbies. Haha...My hobby is actually a second job. I make bracelets.
5. What is your favorite part about your job?
When I see a student "get it" when they learn something new. The hugs. Being surrounded by happy, loving children everyday.
Mrs. Randenne Kelley - GT Teacher
1. Where are you from originally?
I was born in Ohio, and I am a dedicated Ohio State Buckeye fan.
I have lived in 8 different states, and I have also lived in Germany for three years.
2. What led you to become a teacher and how long have you been teaching?
I wanted to be a child psychologist for most of my young life, but my choices of college classes were limited as I started my college education in Germany.
When I moved to Lago Vista and started teaching, I felt like it was a great compromise because I enjoyed working with the children so much.
3. Tell us about your family...
I have an amazing family! My husband is the most supportive, patient, and kind man I have ever met. My children, Megan and Jonah, are true blessings!
They are native Texans and Vikings. Megan is a beautiful, intelligent, fun-loving, athletic senior in college, and Jonah is a handsome, intelligent, easy-going sophomore at LVHS.
4. What are your favorite hobbies?
Some of my favorite hobbies are photography, camping, and traveling to new places.
5. What is your favorite part about your job?
My favorite part of my job is when we find those rare moments to slow down and just listen and enjoy our students. I love to hear their stories! They all have so much to say, and it never gets old!

Counselor's Corner
Hello LVES Families! I am excited to announce that this year we will start having students from Lago Vista High School who serve as PALs--Peer Assistance & Leadership students come to our campus to meet with selected elementary students once or twice a week for a 30 minute time period. The positive peer influence of the PALs program is helpful for addressing issues such as low self-esteem, low motivation, social skills, or they can serve as an older brother/sister mentor.
These LVHS PALs will be meeting and doing activities with our LVES students who could use the extra interaction with a caring individual. Types of activities the PALs could do with our students are playing a game together, reading a book together, discussing friendship issues, helping with homework or class project, and more. All activities will take place on the LVES campus, in areas visible by school employees, and students will not leave campus during this time.
If you have a child that you think would benefit from having a PAL this year, please email or call me and let me know your child’s name and teacher’s name. The PALs will start coming to our school after Thanksgiving, so I will be checking email over the break to add names to the list.
Thank you! amy_sexton@lagovista.txed.net or (512) 267-8300 ext. 4504.
