EmpowerFZ Learner Profile
SECONDARY PROFILE: Engaging, Enhancing, & Elevating Learning
Falcon Zone has a strong tradition that dates back to 1900. That tradition carries on today with six highly successful schools. Falcon Zone offers the following programs: Academy of Health Sciences, Academy of Finance, Academy of Information and Technology, Air Force JROTC, FBLA, Distributive Education Clubs of America, Link Crew, National Honor Society, Student-to-Student program and many others. The zone offers more than 20 advanced placement and CU Succeed classes. Its schools have performed well on CMAS and SAT.
While the Falcon Zone greatly honors tradition, we also embrace that our learners today deserve a different learning experience from yesteryear—one that will prepare them to be successful in our ever-changing world.
Through Empower Falcon Zone (EmpowerFZ), we aim to empower our learners by offering three main things:
- Engaging Environments
- Enhanced Opportunities
- Elevated Instruction
We want our students to have more voice and choice in their education. We desire to cater more to their interests and needs, while at the same time providing them with unique, challenging, expanded and blended learning opportunities.

What is the Middle School / High School Learner Profile?
Forms included in the PowerSchool Parent Portal will support the next step towards the Learner Profile. Students will work to complete the true colors inventory with their grade level teams. Our Choice and Success Advisors will then work with students to complete the YouScience activities to help students explore strengths and skills that relate to possibilities for future careers and employment. Parents will have the opportunity, within PowerSchool, to look at the Learner Profile for their student and see the different characteristics, strengths, and interests they possess. We also hope this opportunity provides additional dialogue at home as we embark upon personalizing learning for your child.
Teachers will also be looking at these learner profiles to help customize learning experiences for students. They will know more deeply how their students learn best along with students' interests towards their future that will aid in their instructional planning.

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1: You Must Have Parent Portal Access
Click here to access the Parent Portal sign in page. You can also download the PowerSchool mobile app in the App Store.
Linked here are directions to support you in setting up your portal account. You must have at least one Access Code (for any of your children) to create your account. Please call your school office to gain this code.
Please note, a single sign on to the Parent Portal will allow you to access EACH child you have enrolled in D49.
Step 2: Review Your Child's Learner Profile
- Click on your child's name in the top left corner. You will need to repeat these directions and review a form for each secondary-aged child you have (students in grades 6-12).
- In the Navigation bar, select Forms.
- Keep the tab General Forms selected at the top. Scroll down to the Student Profiles section and select the Secondary Student Learner Profile.
Once all inventories are completed at school, the information will come together to create a 'My Empowerment Profile' for each child! It will look similar (but not exact) to the sample featured below. Students will place their own personal copy in their personal Data Notebooks within Schoology in which they access constantly to set goals, share progress, and determine elevation within their own learning. We will also have a variety of platforms (hard copies, conferences, etc.) to share the profiles with parents. Stay tuned!
