Heads Up:
TELPAS Window is OPEN
We will try SILENT lunches on Monday; however, please understand, if we cannot keep a conducive testing environment due to the level of noise we will have to make other arrangements that may include having to have classes eat in their rooms.
Spring Benchmark Days...
- Remember, due to everyone testing small groups, we will not have specials on benchmark days. We will have a person stationed in your hallways to offer restroom breaks to teachers as needed.
- On Tuesday and Wednesday, due to benchmarks, ALL classes will need to eat lunch in their classrooms. K, 1st, 2nd & 5th may have their lunch time recess; however I am VERY CONCERNED about the noise level in the hallways for transitions as we will have small groups testing all over the building plus TELPAS in the computer labs. Lines MUST be SILENT. Teachers, you will have to actively monitor and address your students accordingly (and quietly). [Please don't make me regret this decision.]
- On Tuesday & Wednesday, 3rd graders will get recess from 2:30 - 3:00pm and 4th graders from 3:00 - 3:30pm. Teachers you will need to monitor closely as after having been cooped up all day they tend to be a rowdy.
- On Thursday, 5th graders are testing. All classes can have a SILENT lunch in the cafeteria as TELPAS will still be in the computer labs. K - 4 can have their lunch recess times as usual with the understanding that they MUST re-enter the building SILENTLY (especially 3rd and 4th grades!!!). 5th you will take recess from 3:00 - 3:30pm.
Tutorials & Saturday Academy Updates
- Thank you to those that have been contacting parents and updating the tutorial logs! I greatly appreciate your help.
- Tutorial students will need to be released at 3:43pm on their tutorial day to the library where they will receive their snack. They will await pick up from tutorial teacher there. **This is to be sure students that have parent permission do in fact stay instead of sneaking on the bus at 3:45pm.
- The following personnel will be in the library at 3:40pm to receive students, pass out snacks, and check students in (push "button" below for access to tutorial log):
- MONDAY: Nemcek
- TUESDAY: Gray
- THURSDAY: Esquivel & Cathcart
- FRIDAY: Harvey
- **Ladies, if you are going to be out, please secure/arrange to trade days with another so that the kids are not left unattended. Thanks!
- Teachers, you must pick up your students on your tutorial day as close to 4pm as possible.
- If you have not had students attend, please send your 2nd or 3rd notice; a personal phone call would be a great idea as well. Tutorial letters in both English and Spanish were shared with you two weeks ago.
- Please remember to check the online Google form (button below) to verify attendance and snack consumption has been marked accordingly.
- Each Thursday buses will be provided to take students home after PM tutorials. Please be sure parents are aware of this as last week we have 5 buses ready to transport student home and 3 students rode.
Jump Rope for Heart--on Friday!
This Friday, 3.9.18 is our annual JRFH day! Please be looking for more information to be sent from our coaches! (Wear your tennis shoes that day!)

Accessibility Features (ALL) and Designated Supports (Meet eligibility)
Also, be sure you are documenting used accommodations consistently. I will need to see your documentation for accommodation use the first week of February. This documentation consists of you recording what accommodation(s) are being used with which students on which assignments and the outcome (grade? progress?) . This can be done in your grade book or in an anecdotal format.
If an accommodation is not effective, it needs to be removed from their accommodations list. To do so, you'll need to ask for an ARD, 504, or SST meeting depending on how student is served.
Also to reiterate, the SST, or RTI, committee can approve effective accommodations in SST meetings with appropriate data to support decision.
