NISD Pauses on New In Person Learners for 2nd Semester
As San Antonio sees an increase in confirmed COVID cases, NISD continues to closely monitor the changing health metrics and take proactive measures to better ensure student and staff safety.
The District has paused the return of students seeking to change their learning model from virtual to in-person learning. Students will continue in their current learning model.
Families who changed to the in-person learning model for the third grading period will be notified the week of Jan. 4 by their child's school regarding the start date for in-person learning. Any student moving to in-person learning should continue in a virtual model until they receive notification from their school of their start date. For high school students, NISD will continue utilizing an alternating day or hybrid schedule.
We are confident that the safety measures and protocols in place in our buildings are working and remind all of our community of their importance. As COVID-19 case numbers continue to rise, we want to remind everyone to be extremely cautious. We can't stress enough how important it is to use face masks, social distance, and wash hands frequently..
School Day Virtually or In-Person is 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Daily
The best advice for success during this time is to treat virtual and in-person learning the same, which means virtual learners are engaged in school 7.5 hours daily including lunch time.
