Warm Up with a Great Book
Check Out Overdrive!
Did your child/children get a new device for the holidays?
The best way to break in a new device over the Winter Break is to download a book from Frisco ISD Libraries on Overdrive! The greatest thing about Overdrive is it's free. All you need is your child's user ID number (the same as their library number), the Overdrive app on a compatible device (i.e. iPad, Nook, Kindle, Android, tablet) or a computer, and a little time to browse all the wonderful titles in Overdrive.
Accessing Overdrive
There are two ways you can help your child access Overdrive. You can access Overdrive through the Anderson Library Website (click here) and then click on the Overdrive/E-books page on the menu on the left hand side of the Home page. Once there, you will be able to click on the link to access Overdrive. This is where your child will type in their user ID/library number. You can also access Overdrive through MackinVia. Click here to access MackinVia. Your child will login to MackinVia using their Username: Student ID# and their Password: 8-digit birthday (i.e.01101992).
Overdrive Help
Once you and your child are logged into Overdrive, there is a Help button at the top of the main page. The Help page is your one-stop shop for all of your FAQs. You will also find help videos, information regarding reading levels, and additional support on the Help page. See picture below (arrow is pointing to Help button on the main page).
How to Check Out a Book on Overdrive
You can watch the video below to see how to check out a book on Overdrive. It was created by one of our high school librarians, so some of the examples are using the high school website.
