Dear Hawks View Families,
It is a tremendous privilege to be writing my first Principal update to you all! I am honored to serve as your new Principal and look forward to meeting you in the coming weeks. Next week our teachers and classified staff will return and the following week we’ll welcome back our students! I have included a brief video to introduce myself to families. Supply Lists for 2022-2023
Please click on the link for the 2022-2023 Supply List. If your family needs help with supplies, please contact our school counselor at shustler@sherwood.k12.or.us. The supply list can also be found on the Hawks View website at https://hv.sherwood.k12.or.us/.
Supply Night, August 30th, 4:00-6:00pm
This event is an excellent opportunity to meet teachers, reconnect with and make new friends, and ensure your student’s school year gets off to a great start!
Beat the first day rush! You can also deposit lunch money into your child’s lunch account! Or pay online at: https://sherwood.k12.or.us/resources/online-payment-system/
We also encourage you to bring any daily medications, Epi-Pens, inhalers, or over the counter medications your child may need at school to Supply Night. Required forms are available on the Health Services web page, and in the office.
Lunch Information and Fees
For the past two years, most public schools in the U.S. have provided free meals to students. That federal pandemic relief program has now ended, and beginning this year, there will be a fee for school lunches. All families are encouraged to fill out the Free and Reduced Application, electronically, on our District website under the Nutrition Services Department page. Once there, navigate to Forms. If you need a hard copy of the form, please contact the office.
Elementary Pricing for the 2022-23 school year is:
- Breakfast $2.15
- Lunch $3.50
- Milk $0.60
Student Medication
If your child needs to take medication during school hours, we would like to remind you of some important safety policies:
Parents must bring medication (Prescription or OTC) to and from school. Students are not allowed to transport medication.
Medication must be in the original container.
Your child’s name must be affixed to the original container.
Prescriptions must have appropriate pharmacy labeling.
Medications must not be expired.
Appropriate medication authorization forms (see below) MUST be filled out and submitted to the school office before any medication can be administered.
Form A: “Authorization for Medication Administration” must be submitted for any medication use during school hours including student self-administration.
Form B: “Permission for Student to Self-Medicate” (inhalers only, grades 3-5) must be submitted for self-medication along with Form A.
All forms can be found on the Health Services web page here. Save some time and bring forms and medication in on Supply Night, August 30th. The first few mornings of school are extremely busy helping students find their way, and you may have a considerable wait until we can help you.

All parents wishing to volunteer in the Sherwood School District are required to complete a background check each year. This service is free of charge and is necessary to ensure the safety of our students. Background check forms are filled out online on the district website www.sherwood.k12.or.us under Resources/Volunteer Opportunities. Parents will not be allowed to volunteer in the classroom or attend field trips until the school has received notification of approval.
