Glenview's Summer Reading Challenge
Summer 2015
Tic-Tac-Toe - Three in a Row!
Try to get 3 in a row before you return to school in August. Bring your winning tic-tac-toe board to the library by August 29th. Participants will get a treat from the library during lunch one day.
Email Mrs. Knight at andreaknight@anderson5.net with any questions!
I will be looking for your pictures all summer long and adding them to our Glenview Library webpage!
Guidelines
- Remember the public library has free events going on all summer long just for teens and tweens. Check out their website for more information: http://www.andersonlibrary.org
- South Carolina Junior Books Award (SCJBA) Nominees change every year. Check out this year’s titles and fill out your forms on the Glenview Library website: http://www.anderson5.net/Page/12789
- If you choose to do a project, please make it fun and creative! I do not want to see summaries or a picture that you drew in five minutes. I would love to see some 3D projects or even something digital like a video.
- If you choose to keep an electronic reading log, email it to me, share it with me in Google, or send me a link or screenshot by August 29th. I keep up with my books on http://www.goodreads.com. It is a free, social bookshelf where you can connect with friends. Make sure it’s okay with your parents before you create an account!
- If you choose to write a book review, make sure it is a good one! Do NOT just write, “This was a good, funny book” or “This was the worst book ever.” (Example: “Divergent is a great book because it is full of action! The characters are complex and there is an element of mystery because you aren’t really sure who is good and who is bad. It does have a romantic element, but that is not the main part of the story. If you like dystopian stories like The Hunger Games, then you will love this book!”)
Happy Reading!
