THE CHARLOTTE CENTRAL SCHOOL STAFF WISH YOU A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY BREAK!
4TH GRADERS WORKING ON PUBLISHING NON-FICTION BOOKS
5th GRADE AND KINDER READING BUDDIES
KINDERGARTEN AND FIFTH GRADE BUDDIES MADE FRIENDSHIP CHAINS TO HELP THEM DISCOVER HOW THEY ARE ALIKE.
LET'S CELEBRATE
- We thank retired CCS teacher Ed Bianchi and friends for visiting the library Monday and sharing their trains, stories, and expertise with us!
- Fourth graders recently published their nonfiction books about a Vermont History topic. Some of the topics included animals of Vermont, the Revolutionary War, Maple Sugaring, Colonial Schools, Colonial Cooking, and The Green Mountain Boys. Fourth graders shared what they learned about their topic with Seventh Graders. Working in pairs, fourth grader with a seventh grader, they created a Google Slide Presentation. This was an amazing learning opportunity for all!
- Fifth graders shared their favorite children's books with their kindergarten buddies.
- It is a long standing tradition at CCS to put together Holiday Baskets for the Charlotte Food Shelf. For well over twenty years grade K-4 families have collected food for baskets for Thanksgiving and grade 5-8 families have filled the Christmas baskets. The Shelburne-Charlotte Rotary tops the baskets off with a turkey at Thanksgiving and a ham at Christmas. Many thanks to all of you who have contributed this year and in years past--you have helped to brighten the holidays for your neighbors.
