A bit of information on Jefferson C. Davis

Jefferson C. Davis was a Union general (in the civil war). He was born on March 2nd in Clark County Indiana. Once he was commissioned he went to Governor's Island to be trained.

On September 29th, 1862 a man named William"bill" Nelson slapped and insulted Davis, so Davis shot him in the chest.

On March 24th, 1863, William S Rosecrans wrote this letter to Abraham Lincoln.

The letter is a William suggesting to promote Jefferson C Davis.
