Response: This book is based on WWII. One real thing that they mention is the Blue Star flag that shows that you have a family member. Another is the B-17 bomber planes. The book mentions these because the main character, Davy's, brother, Bill, flies them in the war. Another thing is that children organized scrap drives. In this book it mentions that the cub scouts and classrooms collected supplies for the war.

Response: I really liked this book, and I'm not a big fan of historical fictions books, so that's saying something. So I would recommend this book to my friends because it is funny. Especially when an elderly woman with a shotgun almost kills them, and then she becomes their teacher, unlike most woman, who are working in factories. Another reason I would recommend is because

Response: The main setting of the book is in a town during WWII.

Response: Davy's brother was "missing in action" during WWII. This problem is solved by Bill coming home, thus concluding the book. Another problem is that Davy and his friend are looking for things for the scrap drive to help support the military. Their neighbors let them find things in his attic.
