Providing educational leadership; promoting educational excellence
Description/Outcomes
Description
New Hampshire educators are challenged with making sense of a variety of standards documents. How can we interweave the expectations of the New Hampshire Standards, the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and the Common Core State Standards-ELA and Mathematics for a more cohesive design? This session will examine the complexities and opportunities the “new standards” provide. Participants will learn about tools and resources that apply an integrated approach to lessons.
Outcomes
As a result of attending, participants will:
- Understand how the NGSS and CCSS ( Literacy in Science, Mathematics) Standards can be interwoven to strengthen learning;
- Use tools and resources to apply integrated approaches to meet the expectations of multiple standards in their STEM related lessons;
- Begin the creation of an integrated standards-based STEM lesson.
