Knowles Science Teaching Fellowship (KSTF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing new math and science teachers with professional development, resources and support to improve STEM education in our schools.
The Fellowships provides teachers beginning careers in math or science teaching with mentoring and coaching, grant funds for professional development and classroom materials, summer stipends, and tuition reimbursement benefits. Approximately 35 individuals are selected each year to receive KSTF Fellowships.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for consideration, individuals must:
· have the capacity and determination to commit to teaching as their primary career;
· have earned a degree in a major related to the mathematics or science discipline they intend to teach no later than September 1, 2019 (this degree should have been earned no more than 10 years ago);
· have earned or will earn a valid state teaching credential/certificate/license that enables them to teach mathematics or science in grades 9-12 in the United States no earlier than January 1, 2014 and no later than September 1, 2019; and
· be entering their first or second year as teacher of record during the 2019–2020 academic year.

The Inspired Teaching Residency prepares exceptional individuals for successful and sustainable careers as teachers and change-makers in Washington, DC.
Key aspects of the program:
- Receive a DC teaching license in early childhood (PreK-3rd) or elementary (1st-6th) education, with the option of a dual certification in K-12 special education.
- Experience a residency year, training in the classroom of a lead teacher and learning best practices while immersed in the realities of daily teaching responsibilities.
- Earn a Master of Arts in Teaching from Trinity Washington University through a customized program of graduate coursework.
- Benefit from intensive classroom mentoring, receiving constructive feedback, instructional coaching, and personal support.
- Learn to be an Instigator of Thought®, teaching students how to think through Inspired Teaching’s inquiry-based and student-centered instructional model.
- Serve as a full-time AmeriCorps member, joining a national network of individuals committed to public service and gaining access to benefits including a financial education award, childcare benefits, and student loan deferment.

- Practice interviews organized by industry or program
