Health Notes
The flu vaccine will keep you healthy and ready to enjoy the tricks and treats of Halloween.
The little word "flu" may sound like a treat, but it is definitely a "trick." Get your flu vaccine, wash your hands frequently, practice cough and sneeze etiquette, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, contact your healthcare provider within 48 hours if illness develops, and stay home when ill. SAY BOO TO THE FLU!
Locations offering seasonal influenza vaccine can be found at http://www.flu.gov.
Getting Down to Business
On September 28th, the Business and International Studies Academy hosted its first "Lunch with a Professional" of the new school year. Edison Partners CMO Kelly Ford met with seven members of the Academy for an hour and discussed topics ranging from college selection, resume and interview preparation, marketing techniques, to the 7 keys for any startup company. It was an excellent educational experience for the students and helped to further strengthen the ties between Edison Partners and the Academy. The venture capital firm has been the chief sponsor of the Cardinal Shark Tank Competition, which began in 2014. They are still working closely with past winners of the competition, and Ms. Ford is looking forward to growing the event leading into the Spring of 2016. Visit tinyurl.com/LHSBIS14 for more information about the Academy and the Cardinal Shark Tank.
