Principal's Message

Dear Eagles,


It was WONDERFUL having staff and students back on campus together this week - FINALLY!! We know that it is different than before but the great news is that kids are amazingly flexible and resilient. I am so very proud of them!! My admin team and I had the pleasure of popping in to every class this week whether in person or online and the kids are doing a great job adjusting to the new AM/PM model of school.


Over the next two weeks of Spring Break, we hope you will rest and enjoy your time. Be sure to keep reading (consider participating in our Spring Break Reading Challenge -see below).


Also, be sure to complete the interest form below if your student(s) are interested in auditioning for our virtual talent showcase. Interest forms are due no later than Wednesday, March 24th (next week).

SPRING BREAK READING CHALLENGE

VIRTUAL TLES TALENT SHOWCASE

Are you interested in auditioning in our virtual TLES Talent Showcase? If so, you will need to complete this form.


TLES TALENT SHOWCASE INTEREST FORM


It is both a "permission slip" and will allow us to review if your act idea is acceptable. If it is, you will be emailed a link that you will use to submit your audition/showcase video. This form must be completed by no later than Wednesday, March 24, 2021 to be eligible to audition. If you are unsure, complete the form and you will be sent the link and if you choose not to audition you don't need to. Remember acts must be 1 min and 30 seconds or less. Acts must only be solo acts unless students are performing with their TLES siblings. We understand that students want to perform with friends but due to our social distancing guidelines we cannot promote that at this time.

Timeline:

March 24th -Interest/Permission forms due

April 8th -Audition videos due (submitted through Flipgrid - a link will be sent once you complete the permission form and your act idea is approved)

April 23rd-Acts will be notified if they have been selected to be in the "Final Cut" showcase video

April 30th -Virtual Talent Show video shared with TLES staff and families for remote viewing.

PTA UPDATE

PTA Update:

~Yearbooks - Deadline to purchase and submit photos has been extended until the end of Spring Break!

You received a link from your teacher to upload photos for your student. Students will be pictured with their ORIGINAL teacher even if they changed classes with the new schedule. Students will be pictured even if you do not purchase a yearbook so please send in a photo of every child.


If you have trouble uploading your photos, please email them with the student and teacher name to ptatles@gmail.com.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP REMINDERS FOR WHEN WE RETURN

AM COHORT

IN PERSON DROPOFF NO EARLIER THAN 8:30 AM

GATES AND CLASSROOMS OPEN FOR IN PERSON LEARNING 8:35 AM

CLASS TIME 8:45 AM-11:15 AM


PM COHORT

IN PERSON DROPOFF NO EARLIER THAN 12:40 PM

GATES AND CLASSROOMS OPEN FOR IN PERSON LEARNING 12:45 PM

CLASS TIME 12:55 PM-3:25 PM


**Please pull all the way forward rather than trying to pick up or dropoff right in front of grade level gates. Students will watch for their cars and walk to you or if they don't see you we will radio the person monitoring their grade. To get students home quickly and safely we ask that if there is space in front of you that you please keep pulling forward until your student is in your vehicle.

FAQ's

Will school resume to full day?

Not this school year. We will remain in the AM/PM Cohort model the remainder of the 20-21 school year. The model for next year is still to be determined.


Will there be a 5th grade promotion ceremony?

We will definitely be celebrating our 5th grade students! The format is yet to be determined as we have been told to wait until high schools and middle schools have made their plans first. We will communicate information as soon as we can.


Will there be a 5th grade tour to the middle school?

Like last year, Gardner Middle School will be creating a virtual tour and welcome video that our 5th grade teachers will watch with our students around mid to late May.


If I have my student on a waitlist to move to a different cohort (PM to AM or AM to PM or from online to in-person) when will I hear back?

We monitor our waitlist closely. Anyone who requested a change in placement that we could accommodate has already been moved and notified. Any others will be notified if and when space in your requested program becomes available.
