Tues - Fri 9:00 am, breakfast 8:45 am
School ends at 3:30 pm
Half day dismissal - school ends at 12:00pm
Students who are tardy or leaving early must be signed in or out by a parent or guardian at the front office. Please do not take your late students directly to the classroom.
It is very important to report your child's absence
Unreported absences are always marked unexcused, and too many unexcused absences can be cause for concern.
To Report Attendance
Please call our 24-hour attendance line at (509) 766-2651 ext 1194, or email ghattendance@mlsd161.org, or send a Remind in the Garden Heights Attendance Classroom.
Sending a Remind is quick and easy!
1. Login to your Remind account
2. Click on the Garden Heights Attendance Classroom
3. Type your message in the chat box and hit send
Messages you send in this classroom will only be seen by the classroom manager. If you would like to be added to this classroom, text @ghatten to 81010.
When to stay home: A note from our Nurses
Students must stay home when they are not feeling well. Please stay home if you have any of these symptoms:
- Congestion
- Sore Throat
- Runny Nose
- Muscle or body aches
- Vomiting
- Loss of smell or taste
- Diarrhea
- Cough (new or worsening)
- Extreme Fatigue
- Fever of 100.4+ or chills
24-HOUR RULE
You may return once you are 24 hours fever, vomit, and diarrhea free (without use of medication) and all other symptom(s) are significantly improved. If your child has been sent home with any of these symptoms, we expect they will be absent the next day too.
Canned Food Drive
The food bank picked up 2,396 items. This is a new record for us! Thank you Tigers and way to go!
Holiday Fun at Garden Heights
Staff and students enjoyed some holiday fun before break!
Parent Pick up
Please, as a reminder, do not drop off or pick up your students at the front of the building. This area is reserved for our busses. Cars should only be parked within the parent pick up loops. We appreciate you not blocking the entrances and exits for our busses.
Student sign in & out
If you are picking up your child early from school, please keep in mind that we do require a parent or guardian to sign them out. We use a Chromebook in the office for all sign ins and sign outs. Please consider this when timing out when to pick up your child. You may always call the office or send a remind in the Garden Heights Attendance Classroom, and request that your child be ready to go before you arrive to make sign out even faster.
Brrrr, it's COLD outside!
Inclement Weather Procedures
Winter weather is upon us! Sometimes the weather will affect our school schedule. When that happens, the MLSD will issue direct communication between 5:15 am - 6:00 am the day of the weather related event.
Late Start - Late starts due to inclement weather are different than our normal Monday late starts. When the school district declares a "late start", elementary schools will begin at 11am. Bus routes will run 2 hours later than their normal pick-up time.
Closures - There will be no school that day.
Early Closure - Under severe emergency weather conditions, MLSD may need to proceed with early closure.
For more information, please contact the Moses Lake School District at (509) 766 - 2650 or info@mlsd161.org.
