Parent Updates

Happy Sunday Python families. Below are some important updates for this week:

  • Wow! What a great turnout at our PTA Fall Fest this past Friday. Thanks is not enough, however I want to make sure to extend my sincere gratitude to our PTA Board and to all the volunteers who made this night a huge success. Thank you!
  • We are excited to continue our tradition of celebrating our Veterans with a special ceremony at EMES on Veterans Day. See the flyer below for additional information. Your children also brought information home in their Friday Folders. Look for the blue form.
  • Congratulations to our 4th and 5th grade students who have completed the painting of the plow. The design presented by EMES to the Town of Leesburg in the Spring was selected as the winning design and our upper grade students brought that design to life over the past few weeks! The plow blade will be picked up this week and the next time we will see it will be when it leads the Town of Leesburg Holiday parade in December. Stay tuned for more details on this!
  • Make sure that you have scheduled a parent/teacher conference with your child's teacher. If you are not sure, reach out directly to your child's teacher.

A SPECIAL THANK YOU FROM OUR LIBRARIAN MR. MATTRAW

Thank you to the EVE families for supporting the book fair last week, it was a great success. I would especially like to thank the coordinators, Kerry McCahill Guaglianone and Janice Mottram, as well as all the other parents who volunteered during the fair. Thanks also to the PTA for your support of the voucher program. As a result, 168 students were able to get books who might otherwise have not been able to. The proceeds from the book fair will be used for library resources including new STEAM and maker tools.

SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT FOR PARENTS!

As many of you know, our cafeteria (which we refer to as Cafe de Mill) is decorated with flags representing the many cultures that make up our amazing school community. Although we have over 50+ flags already displayed we know that not all of our students/families are yet represented in our cafeteria. Would you please take a moment to discuss with your child what their cultural heritage is? Our students will be working with their teachers in the coming week to assist us in updating our flag inventory so that we know which flags need to be added to our cafeteria. Thank you for your help!
