Happy New Year!
With halftime over and the 3rd quarter of our school year just starting we are looking forward to a strong finish. We had a successful first half and hope to maintain this effort to finish the game strong. Our students came back from break well rested and eager to reach their high school credit goal. They are looking forward to our upcoming trips to the Zoo, the McNay Art Museum, and the Natural Bridge Caverns.
Most of our 8th graders have completed applications for their choice schools and the rest will be finished with their applications by mid January. A good portion of our students have applied to Lanier's Automotive Technology and Multimedia Magnets.
Extraordinary Students
Most Achieved!
JD is our most achieved student in class. He has 2 courses finished and will be finished with his 3rd by next week. He is a great student and a hard working athlete. His effort on and off the field is going to take JD very far. He has applied to Lanier's Automotive Technology magnet and is looking forward to the challenge
Hardest Working.
Emiliano is one of our hardest working students that I have ever taught. He has 1 course completed and is a few more days away from his next completed course. He polite, helpful, and a skilled student, in class and on the field. When you think of an ideal student, Emiliano immediately comes to mind.
Perfect Attendance
One of our Partner students, Maiwand, (pictured on the far right) won a 50" Smart TV as part of a perfect attendance lottery for the first semester. Along with perfect attendance, Maiwand, held his grades above an 80% and was part of our football and basketball teams for the fall.
