News from District 153

(You don't need to have kids in our schools to be a part of this effort!)

Schools will be closed on Monday, Jan. 17th, in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. However, District 153 has teamed up with the Village of Homewood to honor Dr. King’s dream by supporting three agencies that provide critical services to those in need in our community: The South Suburban Humane Society, Anew, and Respond NOW.

Our three schools have “adopted” these organizations and will be collecting donations on their behalf through Jan. 17th. Please click the photos below for more information about needed donations.

Panther PJs for Patients Nearly 40 pairs of new children's pajamas were delivered to the patients at Comer Children's Hospital, thanks to a "PJ drive" sponsored by the James Hart's Interact Club and 8th-grade Panther philanthropist, Dannan Rose.	Hats Off to Churchill School! Students and staff donated a heap of pet care items during the Student Council's December collection for the South Suburban Humane Society.	Thanks, Santa!
