9th Grade Scheduling
9th Grade Schedules
Every year at this time, we start planning for the next school year. As a part of that process, I meet with students to talk about their classes for next year, and parents fill out the Course Registration Forms. These forms are very important in helping us plan and put together the master schedule, as well as individual student schedules, for the 2016-2017 school year.
What required classes do the 9th grade students take?
- Algebra I
- Physical Science
- Computer I
- Civics (one semester) / Economics (one semester)
Students will have 7 class periods next year, so they will choose one elective to complete their schedule. What are their elective choices?
- Athletics (Basketball-please let the coaches know if you are interested in trying out)
- Health / P.E.
- Band (Must have previously taken Band)
Course Descriptions can be found on my Counselor Webpage, https://sites.google.com/a/sjbulldogs.org/mrs-breeding-s-counselor-webpage/. The classes are separated by department/subject on the left toolbar.
9th grade students also have the opportunity to apply for the Honors Status Program. Applicants should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and subject area GPA of 3.5. Honors status is offered in English, Algebra I, and Physical Science. More information about the Honors Status Program can be found on my Counselor Webpage.
New this year--the Course Registration Form for 2016-2017 is a Google form! Simply click on the link below, complete the form, and submit. The Honors Status Program Application is Section 2 of this Google Form. Course Registration Forms must be submitted by February 26.
