Student Behavior Management Strategies: Information Item
Maria found this website with a strategy that is based on relationships. We know that strong relationships and demonstrating caring (even when our kiddos are pushing us far away) is extremely important. https://thecornerstoneforteachers.com/the-2x10-strategy-a-miraculous-solution-for-behavior-issues/
You may recall each of you received a trifold of strategies for trauma-informed care. I went back to review this and all the strategies are rooted in relationships. It was an important reminder as I too was becoming frustrated and overwhelmed by the sheer number of students who are communicating through their actions that they have a need that is not being met. This was a great reminder for me to show compassion and understanding and to not take the students behavior personally.
No easy task but it was a strong reminder of how important relationships are.
