First Grade
*Red Ribbon Week is November 17-21. Here is a list of what your child will be doing each day of the week:
Monday-Wear a red hat to school.
Tuesday-Add their hand print to a banner at school.
Wednesday-Wear a backwards red shirt.
Thursday-A police officer will be speaking at a seminar at 8:00.
Friday-Wear red socks.
*The Scholastic Book Fair is in the library this week from 7:05-4:00 each day. On Wednesday hours are extended to 6:00 pm.
What's going on in Ms. Roberts Class
Reading and Writing- Students will be reading Thanksgiving and fall themed books, writing, and completing graphic organizers and crafts related to the books. They will write a how-to piece about making a pie. They will write about what they are thankful for.
Math- Students will be practicing number bonds and fact families with a fun Thanksgiving theme.
Social Studies- Students will be learning about costs, benefits, consumers, and producers. Tomorrow will be our "Market Day" and the students will sell the "goods" they made to buyers, which will be students from other grades.

Nov. 17-21- Scholastic Book Fair in the library from 7:05-4:00 (to 6:00 on Wednesday).
Monday, Nov. 17- Social Studies projects due.
Tuesday, Nov. 18- Market Day!
Friday, Nov. 21- Dress down day-wear your favorite jersey! Thanksgiving/fall party in the classroom
Nov. 24-28- Holiday break! No school!
Tuesday, Dec. 2- Reading MAP test
Wednesday, Dec. 3- Math MAP test
Ms. Tice's Class

Social Studies- Students will be learning about costs, benefits, consumers, and producers. They will be “selling” goods of their own during Market Day!

Nov. 17-21- Scholastic Book Fair in the library from 7:05-4:00 (to 6:00 on Wednesday). Our class will be going during our library time on Wednesday if you would like to send cash to school with your child that day.

Important Information:
*There will be no reading and spelling homework or tests this week.
*We will be having a Thanksgiving/fall celebration on Friday, Nov. 21. Please join us at 11:45 and sign up to bring something if you can!
Ms. Judge's Class
*****IF YOU PLAN TO BRING IN A DISH please read the note on the signup genius about food allergies. We have peanut/nut and egg allergies in our class. These are very serious so please be respectful and include a note if your recipe includes these items.
Reading
This week we will be learning all about Thanksgiving and reading stories related to this topic. We will NOT have a reading or spelling test this week, but will continue with our regular reading curriculum after the fall break.
ELA
We will be learning about Thanksgiving and writing about the things we are Thankful for, our favorite holiday foods, and discuss how we can make a pumpkin pie!
Math
This week we will continue our unit on money. On Tuesday we will have our market day when students will be able to buy products with pretend money in class!
Social Studies
We will continue our social studies unit on Americans at Work and will discuss producers and consumers. On Tuesday, we will have our market day!
