Dodgeball, Part 2
SMS is hosting another athletic fundraising all-school dodgeball tournament! The tourney will be held Tuesday, March 20th from 3:15-6:00 PM. Teams can be any combination of SMS students but this spring we have a change. Teams may have up to one member that is an adult employed by SCSD2. This can be any staffer from any school or department. Want to play with your favorite elementary teacher? Ask that person to play with you!
The team entry fee is $30 per team. Event admission is $3 per person (student or adult) for those wanting to join in on the fun by watching. Light refreshments will be available. Entry forms and team entry money are due by Monday, March 19th. Winners will receive championship t-shirts!
Entry forms will be available starting Monday, March 5th in the office after lunch. Get your team ready! Do you have six SMS students or do you want to play with five students and one adult? Decisions, decisions, decisions!
Welcome to SMS, Mrs. Beswick!
To Report or Not to Report?
Being responsible means that we
1) ACT with kindness,
2) STAND UP for others that are being mistreated, and
3) REPORT when any person or our school, in general, is in danger.
It is not uncommon for kids and adults to worry about reporting.
If I report, will I get in trouble? Will reporting cause me problems?
When should I report and when should I not report?
The best answer for kids and adults is this:
If someone is in harm's way, report. If their actions are or could be hurtful to themselves, to others, or to our school or community, report. Bullying, self-harm, violence, and substance abuse are all things that should be reported.
There are several ways to report.
Come to the office. Message a teacher, counselor, or administrator on Canvas.
Ask your parent/guardian to call school. Or call the anonymous Cyberbully hotline and leave enough detail to allow us to help! The Cyberbully hotline number is on the poster below and is also on our school web site!

Got Talent?
Everyone is also welcome to participate in the Art Show that same night! Student artwork will be on display in the cafeteria during the Talent Show, and artists will set up their own displays. Artwork can be 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional, or digital, and students can enter multiple pieces of artwork. A handout with more info will be available in the SMS office next week. Contact Mrs. Owen if you have any questions about the Art Show!
We can’t wait to showcase your talents on April 27th!
