Lansing Elementary Weekly Update
Newsletter for the Lansing Elementary School Family
September 9, 2023
Dear Families,
We had a great week! We had several events including our Mini-Cheer opportunity on Wednesday and Thursday, our mini-spirit week, our monthly Lansing School District Playground Committee Meeting, and our Lansing High School Varsity football game on Friday. Our min-cheer performers did an amazing job! Thank you to all our community members who came out to support our K-5 Mini-Cheer performers and our high school students!
This week, we have our Back to School Bash on Wednesday, September 13, starting at 5:30 on our first grade playground. We are still looking for volunteers. Please consider signing up! Even an hour helps! up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0D44AAA62AA1FE3-k5back?fbclid=IwAR2UlNRZVIe6zLPolFuuBnk54M-WX8CrpvoC3dSiqAdbG5rGXUq2YrAmu8Y#/
This week, we will also administer the mySAEBRS assessment to 2nd and 3rd grade students who's families have opted in to this assessment. If you have not already opted students in or opted students out, please click this link: https://forms.gle/6bHzFts6rqf6KTGv9. This is our social, academic, and emotional behavior risk screener. The questions are provided below. We are able to provide supports to students who display outward behaviors. This survey also helps us identify students who may have internal behaviors in need of support
We are excited to offer a free resource for parents and guardians through our Behavior Intervention Support Team. This is a virtual class that aligns with the behavior intervention supports that we provide in Lansing School District. Please see more information below. The deadline to register is September 15th. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kpJaWHQHpCzDV3WmlWSe-PGiKgVxXHi7/view?usp=sharing
Our first Lansing Elementary Site Council Meeting will take place September 28th from 4-5pm. If you are interested in applying for Site Council, please complete an application here: https://forms.gle/wfa7ifLXhUuRVkTV9
A few reminders:
Bagtags: Students should now have tags on their backpacks indicating how they are going home. Please do not remove these. This assists us in ensuring your student is in the correct location at dismissal.
Bus riders: If your student is a bus rider, I strongly encourage you to get the bus compass app. This will allow you to monitor bus location in real time.
Visitors: We would like to remind families that all visitors must enter and sign in through the office.
Our Schedule: Our school day is from 8:30-3:30 (M-W, & F) and 9:30-3:30 on Late Start Thursdays (if there are 3 or more days of school).
