"Take rest; a field that has rested gives a bountiful crop." ~ Ovid

Thank you for all that you do each and every day. Take this weekend, and "extra" day off to rest, relax and enjoy your family.

Congratulations Jennifer Grace ~ Parsons Elementary School, Teacher of the Year 2015-2016

It is difficult to vote for one teacher of the year. All of our teachers, who were nominated, are outstanding educators with a passion for students and helping them to reach their maximum potential. Congratulations Jennifer, and we look forward to having you greet the children in the front lobby on Tuesday morning in your NEW chair:-)

Local Heros

Kindergarten would like to thank Trish Baughman for helping us this whole week at lunch! Of course a big thank you to all who helped us the first two weeks!! Trish, however, on her own decided the children still needed some extra support and guidance at lunch, so she was there every day :)

Best Wishes!

We would like to offer best wishes to Amanda Stroud. As many of you are aware, she will be displaced due to low Kindergarten enrollment here are Parsons ES. Amanda will be moving to Harmony Elementary School to teach 2nd grade. We have no doubt she will be a wonderful addition to the Harmony family, but we will miss her enthusiasm here at Parsons.

RBES Goals

Profile sheets are to be completed next week. We are asking for support teachers to have data entered by Thursday, September 10 and classroom teachers to have data entered by Friday, September 11.

Profile Sheets: Shared Drive > Parsons > Staff > Profile Sheets > 1516 folder > Select appropriate grade level profile sheet.

Please SAVE your profile sheet into YOUR folder before making changes.

From our PTA

The fundraising committee would like to thank you for your support!

We appreciate you wearing the keychain lanyards around school as that is a large part of promoting the fundraiser with the students. We are happy to exchange keychains with you if there is a particular one you want--just let us know!

We also encourage you to reach out to parents -- let them know how much you want to earn the $50 Book Fair credit, and how they can help make that happen.

We are currently behind for meeting our goal to cover the costs of the PTA programs at school, so we would really appreciate any efforts you can make to help the fundraiser be successful!

We are still planning out the details of the pie-throwing event, but we know it will be on Friday, September 18th at 2:00pm behind the school. Any student who donates $200 or more earns a pie to throw at a volunteer teacher/staff member. We would love to know of any additional competitions going on between teachers so we can plan one hilarious pie-throwing event!

Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful

Thank to everyone who helps to keep our school clean and beautiful. Parsons recently earned the title of a Green & Healthy(G&H) Reaching Higher School.

E-SPLOST ~ November 3

On Tuesday, November 3, 2015 Gwinnett County voters will be asked to extend the special purpose local option sales tax for education (E-SPLOST). Over the years, the E-SPLOST has funded educational capital projects that have benefited all students in Gwinnett County. It is important for Gwinnett citizens to be aware of the E-SPLOST and the district's plan for meeting the classroom and technology needs of Gwinnett's growing student enrollment. If you would like more information about E-SPLOST please go to the following link:
