Avian Influenza in Washington County
4-H Families & Volunteers,
Please read the information in the link below from Nebraska 4-H Program Director, Kathleen Lodl, regarding information about the avian influenza as it pertains to the most recent case found in Washington county. https://acrobat.adobe.com/link/review?uri=urn:aaid:scds:US:05447779-3b5b-301f-b5fd-cb38a7b90f77Our office receives communication from the USDA through the state 4-H office and we will share any additional information we receive with you as it comes in. Please be aware of the bio security best practices. All youth who participate in a 4-H livestock project are required to go through YQCA certification - this would be a great place to start in refreshing your knowledge on those best practices. You can find additional information here: https://extension.unl.edu/statewide/hall/highly-pathogenic-avian-influenza-hpai-in-nebraska/
