Soaring Over MDE

Week 9

Happy Friday!

I hope this finds you all out and enjoying the sunshine this weekend! I thought we were headed for Fall and then Summer showed back up with a heat wave this week!

Not too many things to report on this week. Thank you to Laney Cline for organizing the donation of Popular Trees from Trees for Little People. We had roughly 150 trees donated and distributed. This will be a good way to start the replenishment of trees from those that were destroyed in the the recent and current fires.

Next Week begins our Parent/Teacher conferences. Your teacher has probably sent out a sign-up for selecting your time for your Zoom/Meet Conference. Please know that the synchronous (Live instructional) minutes may shorten by 30-minutes (M, T, TH, F) for the next two weeks. However, that means the asynchronous time will increase by 30-minutes. Daily instruction learning minutes will remain as 240.

NEW ART Section

My son has started doing Art on Fridays (His creation from this week is the image.) I will be sharing an ART HUB lesson each week. At the beginning of Shelter in Place, my sons and I would select a new lesson each week to draw together. It was a fun thing to do while stuck inside. I hope you are able to sit down as a family and create some new masterpieces! If you would like to share your art, please email it to me, or bring it to the office. Art Lesson LINK
