Reminder: Phones, smartwatches should be off and out of sight at school
We are more often seeing students using smartwatches, and cell phones inappropriately during class. Students have been receiving or sending messages from family members during the school day. These messages disrupt the learning environment for your child, their classmates, and the teacher. If you need to reach your child during the day, please contact the main office at (630) 858-1600.
Cell phones, smartwatches, and other electronic devices must be kept out of sight in a backpack, purse, or locker during the school day. If a student violates these rules, the device will be confiscated and there may be disciplinary action.
Please have a conversation at home about the appropriate use of technology at school and why it is important that all students are able to focus on their learning.
More information is available on page 44 of the Student/Parent Handbook, CCSD 89 Board of Education Policy 7:192 – Student Use of Mobile Telecommunication Devices, and Board Regulation 7:192-R.

New to the 2023 yearbook: Community photo upload!
A fun new feature of our yearbook this year is the ability to have our Park View community upload pictures you are taking. This can be photos at an event, school volunteer opportunities, or class celebrations. To upload photos directly to the yearbook site to be used in this year's book, visit: https://community.lifetouch.com/invite...
- Use the invite code: PARKVIEW-PANTHERS-23
- Upload photos you think would be great in the yearbook: First day of school, classroom parties, clubs, band, orchestra, etc.
- When you upload them, title them with your student's grade and the activity pictured so they can be organized later (example "4th_Halloween")

Families may be charged for damage to district technology devices
Families should have a conversation at home about the importance of appropriately using the district's technology devices (as outlined in the district’s Acceptable Use Policy.) Appropriate use includes: carrying the device carefully, keeping liquids away from devices, and not leaving devices in areas with extreme heat or cold.
When a district device (such as an iPad or Chromebook) is damaged or lost due to negligence or misuse, the repair or replacement will be the family’s responsibility. A list of charges is available at: https://www.ccsd89.org/techdamage
PTC Amazon Smile and Box Tops
The PTC received notice that the Amazon Smile program will no longer continue after February 20. This is for any Amazon Smile account, not just specific to PTC. Families are still able to help support the PTC through the various fundraiser provided during the year such as restaurant nights, box tops, and supporting sponsored events.
