Author Visit
Dressel Families,
We have had a great start of the school year! Students have been working hard getting into the routines in and around school, digging into their learning, and continuing to build relationships. If you are looking for ways to continue to support your student(s), here are just a few ideas:
- Ask them about particular questions about their day (you can use your teacher's weekly communication to ask questions about their learning focus in each subject)
- Discuss peer relationships - Are they making new friends, How might they be solving problems
- Do your best to stay on a morning and evening schedule, especially getting enough sleep.
- Talk to them about the school-wide expectations.
- Help them practice their lunch pin number
A few additional reminders:
- If you are in the car rider line at the end of the day and need an extra car tag, please email Karen Kennedy
- If you are driving around our campus, please drive with extreme amount of caution and be a role model for our young children as you interact with other adults.
- Please label all belongings, especially as the weather is changing. This helps get items back to heir owner.
Important Dates:
- Sunday, September 10 - Dad's Club Fishing 2pm - 4pm
- Tuesday, September 12 - PTO McDonald's Night
- Friday, September 15 - PTO Movie Night
- Wednesday, September 27 - Picture Day
- Friday, September 29 - NO SCHOOL
Enjoy your weekend!

PikMyKid
Dressel uses the free PikMyKid platform to improve the safety and efficiency of our pick-up process. Families will need to download the PikMyKid app on their cell phones. This free app can be found in the app store and will allow you to notify the school of pick-up changes, authorize others to pick-up your child from school, alert you when your child has been picked up or sent home on the bus, as well as help organize the car line during pick-up.
The registration process is easy. If you have not done so already, we ask that all families register with the phone application as soon as possible. Please make sure you register with your personal current mobile phone number or the app will not allow you to access your child’s information for security reasons.
If you do not think the school has your mobile number on file or if your child does not appear on your app’s home page, contact support@pikmykid.com after registration, with your child’s name, school, grade, and updated contact information for you.
Anyone who will be picking up your child should also register themselves with the application. Their screen will be blank and they will not have any authorization until you allow it within the app.
PTO Meeting Change
PTO is excited to welcome Dr. Tony Lake to Dressel for his annual Listening and Learning presentation on October 12th at 7 PM in the Dressel cafeteria.
